In loving memory of David Head

This site is a place to share your memories of our beloved husband, dad, and brother, David Head.

David was a loving friend to so many, and we wanted to establish this site where people can leave tributes, pictures or funny stories.

We would also gratefully receive donations to two causes that were close to David’s heart, Alzheimer’s Society and Prostate Cancer UK.

Dave Head! There it was on the computer, nervous to say the least, I was actually going to be doing a member of the Head family’s hair!! I’d seen you about the salon for years and now it was my turn, why did you book in with me?! As tall as the beams in the salon, ducking your way along here you come!! From the moment you spoke, there it was, joke after joke after joke!! You made my job incredibly easy!! Your Dad jokes and general persona always bought a smile to my face!! You was kind enough to invite me into your home to continue to do your hair, and this is where I really got to know you, always offering a drink, some food (even if you was sending the kids to get it) your love, kindness and gentle giant ways, reminded me so much of my own dad, for this I’m forever grateful for, just being in your presence picked me up at times, more than you could ever realise. I’m so sorry you have been through so much illness, you will live on through your doting family, I just know it! At the hardest times, your infectious personality will be remembered, relived and will bring warmth and comfort to all that need it. Remembering you today and always, your Hairdresser xxx

I’ve met David at the end of 2009 when I applied for a Commercial Manager role in his team. I was so delighted when I got the job as even during the interview he could not hide how lovely he was. He was great to work for and with - professional , hard working and so much fun. His sense of humour is unforgettable. We travelled many countries together, some of them multiple times. I even got to spend one Valentines with him - the look of the face of the restaurant waiter when we said - table for three (GM was with us too). Sooo funny. We’ve kept in touch ever since. Meeting in Cannes every year, having our pizza “date” Tuesdays. When I returned from mat leave Cannes was my first trip - my hubby and our little girl were there too. Seeing David with my daughter was a bliss - he was such a family man. Loving his wife Moira, always speaking so nice about her, loving his kids and the ever growing pool of pets :) I wished David happy birthday last month and we agreed to speak the week after. That day never came. So if you read this, David, crack a joke in heaven and smile. That’s how I will always remember you by. ❤️

David: Always the most generous and welcoming host. Loved seeing children running around when they were all small, not just his own! Witty and kind. A true gentleman.
